Saginaw State Farm Agent Gives Away Free Back-to-School Bags on Saturday, August 13 & August 20 from 9 am to Noon
Popular school bag event at Linda Allen State Farm Agency office on North Boat Club Road returns for second year.

FORT WORTH, TX, July 28, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Any family who has sent a child off to school knows how expensive it can be. Paper, pens, books, notebooks, backpacks, new clothes ... the list seems to be never-ending. This year, Fort Worth insurance agent Linda Allen will lend a helping hand, by giving away school bags on Aug. 13 and 20 in front of her State Farm office in Saginaw at 8101 Boat Club Road.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon. Children will also be able to meet and get a picture with the State Farm mascot, the Good Neighbear.

"Last year we gave away more than 300 school bags and we are hoping to see even more people out this year," said Allen. Many students and parents told us how much the event meant to them, so we're going to do it again."

Several school teachers and administrators stopped by last year to get bags as well. "They said there are always a few kids who show up at school without supplies," said Allen. "It is such a good feeling to be able to help those kids get off to a good start."

Allen and her team sponsor a partial college scholarship for a senior at Boswell HS. She and her team also collected supplies for firefighters battling wildfires in Texas earlier this year.

As the author of the book "Out with Customer Service & In with People Service," Linda Allen is dedicated to serving others, and plans to continue reaching out to the community. "I love owning a State Farm agency in Fort Worth because of the opportunities it gives me to do events like the school bag giveaway."
