Ms. Hainsworth has long been active in the advancement of women and girls, encouraging entrepreneurship and business growth among women in a variety of environments. In 1983, Ms. Hainsworth graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in English and drama from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, now Aberystwyth University. She is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Journalists and the Royal Academy of Dance, and serves as a gender consultant to the British Council.
