Elsa has a clear focus on the cultural, social and economic development of Australia. She has 40 years of experience as a change agent, public advocate, senior executive and board director. Throughout her brilliant career, Elsa has developed strategies for organizational change, for managing the public profile of organizations, and for community consultation and involvement. She has developed a high profile and national network through her holding of various senior advocacy roles in government, corporations and community based organizations. Elsa's background includes working in heritage, architecture, social welfare, ethnic affairs, media and the arts.

During her collegiate career, Elsa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration and French Literature. She is a member of the Library Council of NSW and Trustee of its Foundation; a board member of Symphony Australia and Chair of its Finance Committee; The George Institute for International Health and Deputy Chair of its Foundation; and of the Sydney Community Foundation and Chair of its Projects Committee. Elsa is also a member of the National Breast Cancer Foundation Global Illumination Committee and a member of the General Sir John Monash Foundation Awards Committee.
