Elvenia Gray-Sandiford Earns Membership With Stanford Who's Who
Elvenia Gray-Sandiford has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her outstanding professional career.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, CANADA, April 21, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Elvenia Gray-Sandiford has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her outstanding professional career. As Director of TransformNation for the past 5 years, Elvenia has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
TransformNation is a community-based organization which stimulates and supports community development through engagement and inclusiveness. The core principles of the organization are community participation and empowerment. Over the past 5 years, TransformNation has been developing community alliances. They work closely with community organizations, businesses and government to help support members of all communities in becoming more inclusive, barrier-free and equitable.
TransformNation continues to collaborate, mobilize, organize and implement meaningful programs, opportunities and strategic interventions to give children and their families opportunities to reach their optimal potential. The programs they offer are responsive to the needs of the each community.
During her collegiate career, Elvenia earned a Bachelor's degree in Arts with a Minor in Child Development and a Post Graduate Diploma in Community Development. She is also Certified in Volunteer Management and Non Profit Management. Her philosophy, "You dream it, you can achieve it" is the idea behind her work in the community.
Elvenia has served on the Board of Directors with the Chemo Crisis Center, Richmond Family Services, Rosemary Brown Family Services Society, Yes We Can Foundation, and the Children's Ministry of the church she attends. She served with the Congress of Black Women while in Vancouver, and then served as the youth coordinator with the Mississauga and Area Chapter. In addition, Elvenia serves with the Black Community Action Network and continues to serve as Community Development Worker/Youth Coordinator for community organizations.
