Shirlee A. Smith has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her outstanding professional career.

TUCSON, AZ, April 14, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Shirlee A. Smith has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her outstanding professional career. As an Author and Poet for the past 11 plus years, Shirlee has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

Shirlee served as a journalist with the United States Air Force for nearly a decade. She has been published in numerous government publications and also worked as a newspaper freelance writer in California. Shirlee currently works as a computer specialist, writing children's books in the time away from her busy schedule.

In 2010, Shirlee published the book As Good As Gold, which is a futuristic story about a civilization where money, alcohol, guns, crimes, and diseases don't exist, and a computer-based way of living is being practiced. Even in this Utopian world, greedy villains still exist who want to spread havoc and alter the peaceful existence of the people. After a couple of 6th graders on a class trip to the museum overhear a plot to rob the museum and travel back in time, they are kidnapped and it is up to a girl from the past to try and save them.
