Kathryn Kruemcke Roberts works to provide patients who have diabetes with autonomy over their disease

HOUSTON, TX, June 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathryn Kruemcke Roberts, LSW, Chief Operating Officer & Partner of Pumps It, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the medical device industry.

Currently, Kathryn Kruemeke Roberts heads a specialty medical device and disease management company with a focus on insulin infusion pumps and related diabetic supplies. A $10 million, women owned and operated company located in northwest Houston, Pumps It represents all leading manufacturers of insulin infusion pumps and provides patients with quality care in 49 states. Some 13 years ago, Kathryn came to work at Pumps It during its second year of existence and has worked diligently to build it into the dynamic growing company it is today.

Kathryn's formal training is in the field of social work. She worked for 15 years as a medical social worker advocating for patients' rights. While working in in the geriatric community, she developed programs which helped assure the aging an improved quality of life, many of which now dictate the standard. As a hospital social worker, she placed medical ethics and the demand for quality patient care as her priority, a passion she continues to pursue. One of Kathryn's core values is autonomy, the right to self government. Her quest to provide those patients who have diabetes with autonomy over their disease is the driving force behind Pumps It, Inc.

She attended Cornell University, St. Edward's University, Texas A & M University and S.P. Waltrip Sr. High. In 2005-2006 she received Who's Who honors and was named one of the American Biographical Institute's Great Women of the 21st Century.

She maintains affiliation with the Woman's Presidents Organization, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the American Diabetes Association and the Business Leaders Confidence Index. She is licensed social worker in the State of Texas.

Kathryn's other business interests include, VI-K Ranch, Happy Trails Hideaway and Happy Homes Construction Company.

Kathryn lives in Cypress, Texas. The source of her greatest pride is her children Gregory, Jennifer and Joel, and grandson, Gavin Lee. She enjoys gardening, traveling, dancing, cooking, cattle ranching and adventure-seeking. She exudes a passion for life and a quest for excellence.
