She studied Journalism and Creative Writing for 3 years in college and spends time writing and reading every day. She is an avid reader who has read almost 9,000 books in her life. Prior to her writing career, Sylvia spent 29 years working for a home health agency. She was the recipient of an Outstanding Service Award from Healthkeeperz Scotland County Staff in 2005. Sylvia serves as President of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is also a member of the Scottish Pilot Club and the First Baptist Church.
